I can warmly recommend DVS for the few dollars and use it myself every day. That's why I have the Dante Virtual Soundcard installed on each of my PCs. Unfortunately, the price jump is huge, especially since both solutions basically transport the same (identical) audio data into or out of your PC. The next level for such a multi-channel interface would be a PCIe card like this one from Yamaha *.
